Man of the Moment.

It seems like my life has taken a 360 degree turn this month. I started working at Takumi, joined several social influencer groups and launched partnerships with some of the biggest fashion brands in the world. Can I get a round of applause… *clap clap* No? Okay! *rolls eyes*

With London Fashion Week coming to a close, I decided to stock up my wardrobe with some serious (really serious) fashion. My brain was flashing images of casual suit trousersviscose floral shirts and black leather shoes with creeper sole – all of which are currently trending in the menswear department. *gotta get ’em while they’re hot* So, I got my credit card out and went on a massive online shopping spree! *avoids answering calls from his credit card issuer*

September is the perfect time to make slight changes to your personal style. Therefore, look at ways to bring something new to your existing wardrobe. This year, I chose to experiment with sport-influenced suiting styles. I started pairing suit trousers with casual t-shirts and bomber jackets. As someone who dressed for the weekend everyday, this is a great opportunity to really play to my strengths because this doesn’t compromise my overall aesthetic. Also, I can’t say no to bomber jackets, especially the ones with artsy embroidered appliqués. Yasss!

Bankside Adventures.

Every time I go the south of the river, I get this nostalgic tingly feeling. It’s the people, the streets, the atmosphere. I always feel at home because my life in London started nowhere else but in SE1! *sarf eest, I’m coming for you*

Recently, I was bopping  around Bankside with my blogging bae Neil Thornton from What Neil Did. We were checking out the latest art at Tate Modern and chasing happy hours in many bars.

Speaking of drinks, I’d strongly recommend stopping by the Skylon Bar, which serves mouth-watering earth-inspired cocktails.  This airy Modern European bar with 1950s design touches is located in the Royal Festival Hall with floor-to-ceiling river views. This place is perfect for catching up with friends or getting a little bit more intimate with your new flame.

Next Notebook. Next Menswear. This week's best dressed instagrammers. Blog by Skirmantas Petraitis.“Casual Doesn’t Mean Boring.”

Last week, Next Menswear featured one of my looks in their 2nd edition of weekly best-dressed Instagrammers. This time around, they were mixing things up by giving us some casual street style inspirations.

This marks the beginning of my on going partnership with Next Menswear, which I cannot wait to showcase you very soon! *prances around the room like nobody’s watching*

Several weeks ago, Next launched the “Suit Camp” campaign where they featured 6 male influencers with their 6 ultimately tailored looks. My favourite one is The Game Changer because I like to keep things classy yet casual. *wink wink*

The concept of dressing casually can often bring up all sorts of connotations of boring, lazy, dull. But if @skirmy proves anything, it’s that the opposite is actually true. Dressing casually should actually give you a lot more creative license than dressing for a formal occasion because your personality can properly shine through when it comes to what you wear. So take heed and use this weekend to add flair to what you wear, all with a good dose of individuality and creativity.

My fellow male blogger friends, @cullenjamie and @iansangala, are also featured in this post. Therefore, make sure you check the full post here.

On a mission to cure our Sunday hangovers.

This past weekend I invited a couple of my friends from Folkstone (@tobyvincer and @aarionbakerhair) to stay over at mine. *party time* We had some catch up time and drinks at my place, then we hit a couple of bars in Soho… And by a couple, I mean, we twerked the night away at nightclubs! *shots shots shots* Ahhh, at that point, I felt so sorry for the hangover-the-next-day-self. *ouch*

To me, Sundays are usually reserved for binge-watching Netflix on the sofa, long hangover walks around the neighbourhood or just anything that doesn’t require a lot of thinking. Therefore, I invited Ollie Burton (@ByOllieB) from ByOllieB blog to join us for a burger feast at Honest Burgers in Soho. From BBQ chicken wings to signature burgers, we pretty much ordered everything that was on the menu. Just look at the pictures – it was hard to say no to any of that!

In a great tradition of “oh my god, I need to hair-of-the-dog this hangover immediately“, I ordered several cocktails to kick start our Sunday lunch. Some of you may not know this, but I’m a huge fan of Whisky Sour. So, I tried Kentucky Tea Sour and their signature The Honest Club cocktail with the exceptionally fresh cucumber taste. It didn’t take much longer for my hangover to just sashay away.

Burger from the South.

Guys at Honest Burgers insisted we should try their monthly special – the Tennesee burger. Juicy beef patty, coated with smoked bacon and double American cheese. Also, added onion rings, French’s BBQ sauce and, Memphis mayonnaise to really give that sweet southern charm. Basically, it was not a burger – it was a BEAST! *food coma alert*

The Tennessee burger is currently available at most Honest restaurants until Monday, 11th of September. So, if you haven’t had a chance to try this one, you better get to it!

Grooming

Man Made London

The Pace of Modern Living.

Getting a haircut is pretty much a life changing experience. A significant amount of weight drops off your shoulders and you start to look fabulous again… If it’s done right, of course. *giggles* Ever since I moved to London, I struggled to find the right barber who would really understand my grooming needs. *hashtag needy-queen* When it comes to hairstyles, I’m very precise. I like to keep things simple and a bit different at the same time. I believe that most barbers just go with what’s trending. So, I’m on a quest to find someone who thinks outside of the (hairy) box.

Back in June, I met Joe Easton from Man Made London. During London Fashion Week Men’s, Joe was working alongside Cornerstone to provide the best wet shaving experience to visitors of The Century Club. As someone who has no idea how to shave, this was the perfect opportunity to get some expert advice.

From the moment we met, Joe knew exactly what style works with my jaw line. He used hot towels infused with essential oils to open up the pores. Then, scrub and shave using Cornerstone’s signature razor blades. The whole experience was very relaxing and I (obviously) wouldn’t mind doing that everyday.

The Conscientious Gentleman.

Following our meeting at The Century Club, I reached out to Joe to enquire for the ultimate Man Made London experience. It was the early morning of Laura’s (@laura.works) big day – the wedding. Therefore, I was looking to go for a simple hairstyle and finally find out what sort of products work well with my hair. *feels lost* In the past couple of years, my hair got slightly thinner which is a dream come true to my mum who is a hairdresser. It’s about time I make most of what I have got left, literally!

During my appointment, Joe suggested that I should use Texture Salt Spray to add thickness and definition to my hair, then blow dry it to give that 2nd day feel. To finish off my look, Joe recommended Man Made’s own No. 4 Cream to give a light but long-lasting hold. The cream adds natural shine and control, and is completely paraban free! *swish swish*

Man Made London is a place that goes way beyond just a barber shop. It’s a professional environment that resembles a private members club. An institution where men of class and sass can enjoy a drink in a sophisticated setting. Also, there’s an in house Aesthetic Clinic for those who look to enhance their looks a little bit more. * wink wink* I’m currently looking to buy their bundle packages. For instance, you can get 6 haircuts for the price of 5! *happy dance* See the full price list here.

The New Chapter

New Beginnings.

I’m not going to lie, I could’ve posted this as a Facebook status but I would rather strengthen my domain authority. *tongue pop*

Let’s start from the beginning. Back in June 2017, after 3 long (very long) years working as the Social Media Manager at this tiny digital media agency, I decided to part ways with them and spend my summer doing what I really love to do – create quality content for brands. I managed so save up enough money through social media and blogging, so I could live comfortably for quite some time… or at least until I find my dream job. No rush there. I call this #funemployment !

I spent the last 2 months writing my blog, creating content and networking at various PR events. My life was a never-ending fantasy. This was the first time since I moved to London where I felt like I really belong here. I needed an escape like this to really see the bigger picture.

I’ve been working with Takumi as their influencer since January 2017. From events to product reviews, every gig was more exciting than the other. My obsession with Takumi was ever-growing. I was checking my phone every 5 minutes to see what was next in store and when I found out that they were hiring – I had no other choice but to apply! *click click sent*

Today, I can proudly say that I joined Takumi as their Influencer Community Manager. *happy dance* I will be managing campaigns, working with influencers and potentially bringing my own clients to the platform.

What’s Takumi?!

Takumi is a micro-influencer platform, which helps brands and influencers to connect with each other and create bespoke visual content on Instagram. They’ve been working with brands such as Sony, Audible, Starbucks and Jack Wills to name a few. There’s an opportunity for content creators (like me) to expand their creative catalog, collaborate with global brands and make money whilst doing it! *make it rainnn, yasss*

I met so many talented people through Takumi, who I now call my dear friends. Actually, this particular picture was taken by Victoria (@philorose), who is the funniest person I know. I met Victoria at the Southern Comfort event several months ago where I was voluntarily taking Instagram-friendly pictures for her, Shelley (@shelleyannem) and Sonia (@soniafigone).

You know it’s a great friendship in the making, when you know exactly what sort of content they make without even looking at their feed. Great minds think alike, am I right? *struggles to pick just one party-themed emoji, so adds them all*

Check out Victoria’s blog here.
