According to the climate study provided by the Britain-Is-Rubbish Association, it tips down 29% of the time. In other words, we have (on average) 107 days of rain in Britain every year. Yikes! *closes the curtains, goes under a duvet and searches for a one-way ticket to LA*
Since it’s raining so often in our lovely London Town, I’ve decided to share 4 easy tips on how to survive a rainy day in London. Are you ready?
- Invest in a stylish umbrella – the one with a strong hooked handle and a smart print (or just plain black if want to play it safe). You’ll look 10x more dapper than anyone else when it’s raining. London Undercover has a really nice selection of patterned brollies, so check them out!
- Pick a water-resistant coat – I’m sure you don’t want to get soaked when it’s pelting down, so choose a coat that is waterproof. I’m wearing a shower resistant trench coat from ASOS. It features a woven showerproof fabric, which traps water on the outside and keeps your wintery layers dry. #Genius
- Wear a strong pair of boots – there’s nothing worse than the feeling of damp and cold feet, therefore hard-wearing footwear is a must. I’d recommend wearing leather loafers, desert boots, Chelsea boots and classic high tops when it’s grim outside. In this shoot, I’m wearing black leather loafers from Zara (pssst, they’re still on sale).
- Get cosy – whether it’s an extra layer or a thick turtleneck, wearing something that makes you feel extra comfortable will make an inclement day like this more enjoyable.
This weekend I’m off to Dublin with Outsavvy to scout for some brilliant places that the Irish capital has to offer. So watch this space! #TheMightyCraic
