… Or otherwise known as, an ode to all the single people out there.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching – or in my case – the annual Singles Awareness Day. That one day of the year when eating out is super expensive and my Facebook newsfeed gets over populated with posts from people trying to be extra cute with their loved ones. *rolls eyes* Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate what this day represents, but it’s just another day for me. I’ll go to the gym, work in the office and meet my friends for a lush home-made meal. Maybe some drinks in Soho later? Don’t mind if I do!

We live in the age of individualism, where being in a serious relationship is no longer a top priority. A new study (newer than the last one you read) suggests that today’s singletons are likely to live a more fulfilling life than their married friends. Singletons tend to achieve more of their personal goals, have a richer social life and experience greater psychological growth during their lifetime… and it’s true!

I’ve grown so much in the last 3 years by being independent and seeking for long-lasting friendships with like-minded people. I’ve stopped thinking about love and started focusing more on what I really want to do with my life. If love happens to find me then it’ll be a great addition (not a replacement) to my crazy, wild and wonderful life. Until then, I’ll happily eat my takeaway and binge watch Chewing Gum. *puts “All by Myself” by Céline Dion instead*

For this year’s Single Awareness Day, I’m wearing a baseball jacket with embroidered appliqués from H&M. Oh Hi, Tigers in Japan! It’s a cotton blend with a slight sheen, which basically defines the latest menswear trend on the high street.

I’m also carrying a waterproof backpack from a lovely danish brand called RAINS (check out their Instagram profile, it’s super cool). The bag fits a 15-inch laptop, a mirrorless camera with accessories and a few other essentials. Very practical and stylish!
